"In 'Juno,' the filmmakers' choices are unexpected, not for the sake of surprise or a quirk but in the service of the story. It feels authentic, it feels lived-in. The casting choices, the plot turns, the music, the odd situations and then the typical situations to which the characters don't react typically -- it all veers slightly to the left of the obvious. Too many filmmakers make movies about other movies. This movie felt connected to real life. Diablo Cody writes with laugh-out-loud humor and real feeling, a rare combination. As a producer, I can say there is nothing more satisfying than finding a writer with a fresh voice."
