Kurylenko lands lead in Bond film

Agent 007 finally has a new leading lady. Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko will star opposite Daniel Craig in the latest installment of the James Bond franchise.

Mathieu Amalric has already boarded the project, which started production last week at Pinewood Studios in the U.K., as the pic's villain, while Gemma Arterton will play MI6 Agent Fields. Returning from "Casino Royale" are Judi Dench as M, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter and Giancarlo Giannini as Mathis.

Marc Forster directs Craig in his second outing as Bond.

MGM and Sony share distribution worldwide, with Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Releasing Intl. distributing worldwide on Nov. 7.

Producers are Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of Eon Prods., Sony Pictures Entertainment and MGM.

Model-turned-actress Kurylenko recently co-starred in "Hitman" with Timothy Olyphant and opposite Elijah Wood in a segment for "Paris, je t'aime."
