Helmer Robert Luketic's "21" will open the 15th edition of SXSW Film Conference and Festival on March 7 in Austin.

Pic was adapted by Peter Steinfeld and Allan Loeb from Ben Mezrich"s nonfiction book "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions." It stars Jim Sturgess, Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, and Kevin Spacey, who also serves as a producer with his Trigger Street Films partner Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca. Columbia will release the film March 28.

"21" represents everything you want in an opening night film," said SXSW fest producer Matt Dentler. "A really great production, very entertaining, a great cast and a talented crew. Plus, we know it's a film on many a radar, from the indie side as well as the Hollywood side."

"21" joins other previously announced titles including Michael Radford"s "Flawless," David Schwimmer"s "Run, Fatboy, Run," and Celia Maysles doc "Wild Blue Yonder."

The SXSW Film Festival runs March 7-15.
