In addition to renewing "Shot," MTV has inked a multiseries production commitment with series exec producer Sally Ann Salsano and her 495 Prods. banner. She'll develop, supervise and consult on MTV-branded programming as part of the pact.
The cabler will produce 10 new episodes of "Shot at Love," with the segs slated to premiere in the spring. Format will once again have straight men and lesbians vying for the heart of Tila Tequila.
Original "Shot" wrapped its first season with a 5.9 rating among viewers 12-34, making it MTV's highest-rated series in the demo since August 2005. In total viewers, finale drew more than 6 million sets of eyeballs, making it the most-watched series on the network since November 2002.
Overall, "Shot" was MTV's top-rated new series among viewers 12-34 in 2007.
MTV has ordered a "Shot at Love" spinoff called "That's Amore." It'll feature a contestant from the original "Shot" engaged in his own romantic entanglements.
"Amore" also will be produced by 495 Prods. and Salsano.
Salsano previously worked at Mike Fleiss' Next Prods., producing skeins such as "The Bachelorette" and "The Real Gilligan's Island." She also exec produced HGTV's "Design Star."
