WBTV ups Sonia Borris to senior VP

Exec to oversee marketing, product integration

Warner Bros. TV has upped Sonia Borris to senior VP of marketing and operations for its worldwide marketing group.

In the newly created post, Borris will oversee the group's daily operations, including marketing, promotions and product integration. She'll serve as top lieutenant to WBTV worldwide marketing group topper Lisa Gregorian, to whom she reports.

Gregorian said Borris boasts "valuable business and creative experience on both the studio and network sides of the marketing equation," adding that Borris' newly added responsibilities in business operations will help Warner "develop product-centric marketing campaigns."

The WBTV Group includes the Warner Bros. TV studio, Warner Horizon Television, Telepictures, Warner Bros. animation and digital arm Studio 2.0, along with various distribution channels and a media sales division.

Borris will also remain involved in WBTV's online and digital marketing efforts and supervise all event marketing and production activities related to sales meetings and shows such as the National Assn. of Television Program Executives confab and Comic-Con.

During her past two years as VP of marketing and promotions at Warners, Borris worked to link brands such as Toyota and AT&T to skeins such as "The OC," "Smallville" and "One Tree Hill." She had previously spent seven years at the WB Network.
