The former "Seinfeld" scribe returns his Saturday skein "Talkshow With Spike Feresten" to the air on Jan. 12. It had halted production in the wake of the WGA strike.
With latenight skeins on NBC and Comedy Central having announced plans to return next week -- and CBS' skeins likely to do so as well -- staying dark probably didn't make much sense. Fox declined comment, and producers of Feresten's show were not available.
Assuming the Eye's Worldwide Pants-produced "Late Show With David Letterman" and "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" return next week, NBC's "Saturday Night Live" will be the only latenighter still dark because of the strike.
There was no word Thursday from the Worldwide Pants camp on the status of its discussions with the WGA about a possible interim deal. It's anticipated that Letterman and Ferguson will return to work next week with or without a deal.
