Ron Bass will adapt the screenplay.
Story probes the human side of Einstein and chronicles his struggles early in life, his rise to fame and the end of his life.
Book, published in 1994 by St. Martin's Press, paints a somewhat unflattering portrait of the genius scientist, particularly with regard to how he conducted his personal life.
Bass began writing the screenplay during the summer. "It's inspiring to be chosen to tell the story of Albert Einstein," he said. "I look forward to delivering my script as soon as possible after the WGA strike concludes."
Hero Pictures Intl. was formed in January 2006 and has secured development and production financing from a private equity investor group in Spain. Led by president Maria Rodriguez-Rabadan, the Hollywood-based company has five films in development.
