Sundance taps 13 for writing lab

Scribes have diverse range of backgrounds

The Sundance Institute has announced 13 projects for the Screenwriters Lab, Jan 11-16 at the Sundance Resort in Utah. Participants work with established scribes during the week.

The group of creative advisers includes Kasi Lemmons, Walter Mosley, Christopher McQuarrie and Thomas Vinterberg.

"We are thrilled to be supporting such an eclectic and singular group of filmmakers from the U.S. and around the world," said Michelle Satter, director of the Feature Film Program. "Their deeply personal and original stories transcend the borders of their countries of origin and reflect an urgency, passion and spirit present in independent cinema today."

These are the projects: "Addicted to Love," by Liu Hao (China); "Blood Abundance, or The Half-Life of Antoinette," by John Magary (U.S.);"Cockeyed," by Ryan Knighton (Canada); "Hammer and Anvil," by Alicia Erian (U.S.); "Hannah M.," by Hadar Friedlich (Israel); "The Henchman," by Patrick Vala-Haynes (U.S.); "Meadowlandz," by Moon Molson (U.S.); "Poletown," by Daniel Casey (U.S.); "Quotas," by Fellipe Gamarano Barbosa and Karen Sztajnberg (U.S./Brazil); "Return," by Liza Johnson (U.S.); "Samba Do Maazooz," by Hicham Ayouch (Morocco); "Shockheaded Peter," by Frank Budgen (U.K.); and "Tales of an Urban Indian," by Darrell Dennis (Canada).
