Eye is partnering with New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft to launch CBS Scene, a three-story restaurant/bar that will be housed inside a tony mall being built adjacent to the Pats’ playing field in suburban Boston. CBS prexy-CEO Leslie Moonves announced the project Sunday.
Venue -- which could eventually see sister locations in other cities -- will emphasize the Eye’s many sports properties, from the NFL to the NCAA. More than a hundred HD monitors will run various games.
But there’ll be plenty of nonsports offerings, too. Patrons will have interactive monitors at their tables that will allow them to dial up a host of CBS programming, from “I Love Lucy” to “Late Show With David Letterman.”
There will also be rooms tied to various CBS programs, as well as a retail outlet where patrons can pick up “Survivor” swag and other merchandise.
Themed restaurants tied to showbiz have had mixed results. Disney’s ESPN Zone concept has done well, but Planet Hollywood has struggled.
