"High School Musical" moved to a new venue and "The Lion King" played a short week, accounting for a part of the decline, but post-Turkey Day blues took a toll on a few shows, notably "Wicked," which slipped about $300,000 in Chicago and L.A. to a little over $1 million.
In fact, all three shows in Chicago posted significant declines, with "Jersey Boys" dropping nearly $100,000 and "The Phantom of the Opera" falling about $180,000.
Mostly, it's just that time of the year, but biz is up overall, with the 14 reporting shows posting a healthy $3.5 million-plus more than last year's figures for the same frame.
The highest-grossing show on the chart was "Jersey Boys" in Costa Mesa, Calif., with $1,430,315.
