American Girl Place crew votes union
Actors’ Equity serves as representation
Thesps at the multilevel toy superstore, which produces original one-act musicals for its shoppers, have been hoping to unionize for more than a year, going so far as to picket for two days in summer 2006 and filing a charge of unfair labor practices with the National Labor Relations Board.
The board upheld that charge and supervised a vote to unionize about a year ago. The move was approved, but American Girl challenged the results.
No date for talks between Equity and American Girl have yet been set.
