NBC promotes alternative execs

Vaughan will now serve as senior VP of special programs and alternative development at the Peacock, while Ahr has been named veep of alternative programming, development and specials.
Both execs report to Craig Plestis, NBC Entertainment exec VP of alternative programming, development and specials.
New York-based Vaughan handles most of NBC's specials and oversees several reality shows. As part of the promotion, he'll now also handle East Coast reality program pitches and ideas.
Previously serving as VP of special programs, news and entertainment, exec has credits that include "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" and "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," as well as past specials like the Emmy-winning "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" and "Madonna: The Confessions Tour Live." He also worked with NBC News on various projects.
As for Ahr, exec will help develop new alternative series and also keep an eye on international trends. Ahr, who most recently served as director of alternative programming and development, is currently working on "The Baby Borrowers," "Celebrity Apprentice" and "American Gladiators."
Ahr recently developed the hit "America's Got Talent." She is a former assistant to then-NBC chairman-CEO Bob Wright.
