Under a new change in rules, films that have at least 51% foreign-language dialogue will only be eligible for foreign-language kudos even if they're American. This affects pics such as "Diving Bell" and "Kite Runner," which previously would have been eligible for best picture kudos. Israeli pic "The Band's Visit" will be eligible to qualify for best picture instead of foreign nods because the majority of its dialogue is in English.
The 65th annual Golden Globes will take place Jan. 13 at the Beverly Hilton. Nominations will be announced Dec. 13.
