The ticketing company has launched its first online affiliate network in the U.S., unveiling its EventEngine widget that allows websites to link with ticketmaster.com. Consumers and organizations register to become affiliates of Ticketmaster, which provides the widget.
Affiliates will be able to create online alerts about upcoming events, directing visitors to ticketmaster.com. Affils will have access to the company's search buttons, banners and link engines.
Sean Moriarty, president and CEO of Ticketmaster, said the company will be expanding the number of tools and functionality in the system before rolling it out globally.
John Meglen, president and co-CEO, Touring and Special Events of AEG Live, touted the system for offering "a valuable new distribution channel."
The Ticketmaster affiliate program and EventEngine widget were developed in association with buy at, an international affiliate network. The company will provide Ticketmaster with affiliate support, tracking, reporting and payment services.
