Schreiber to do Universal's 'Mambo'

Actor joins Law, Whitaker in Sapochnik film

Liev Schreiber will do the "Repossession Mambo" with Jude Law and Forest Whitaker for Universal.

He has been cast as Law's boss at a futuristic credit union dealing in artificial organs. When Law's character receives an artificial organ, he goes on the lam, joining his ex-wife, who owes money for her own artificial organs. Eric Garcia adapted his sci-fi novel with Garrett Lerner; Miguel Sapochnik is directing the pic, his first feature helming gig (Daily Variety, June 18). Stuber/Parent's Scott Stuber and Mary Parent are producing.

Schreiber stars in "Love in a Time of Cholera" and the upcoming "Defiance." He'll also star in Fox's "X-Men" spinoff "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
