Linney engages in 'Liaisons'
'Savages' actress to take on Broadway role

Stage adaptation of Choderlos de Laclos' 18th century novel about sexual intrigue and lethal power games will begin previews April 11 at the American Airlines Theater, with opening night for the limited engagement set for May 1.
Linney, who will play La Marquise de Merteuil, previously worked with Roundabout in "Uncle Vanya" in 2000 and "Hedda Gabler" in 1994. She last appeared on Broadway in 2005 in Donald Margulies' "Sight Unseen," for which she received a Tony nomination for actress in a play.
Brit actor Daniels plays Le Vicomte de Valmont. His London theater credits include "Therese Raquin" and "Three Sisters" at the National and "The Wild Duck" at the Donmar Warehouse. He won a 2001 Olivier Award as supporting actor for his role in the National's revival of "All My Sons."
Norris recently directed "Cabaret" and "Vernon God Little" in London. His production of "Festen" played Broadway in 2006.
Casting of other key "Liaisons" roles is expected to be announced shortly. The play was previously seen on Broadway in 1987 in Howard Davies' production starring Lindsay Duncan and Alan Rickman.
