Duo gives Palm Pictures a hand

Korbelin, Grasic join film unit

Jan Korbelin and Marina Grasic have joined Palm Pictures as managing partners, freeing up founder and chair Chris Blackwell to concentrate on future growth.

Korbelin and Grasic bring broad experience in film and TV to the indie as it attempts to expand its profile across multimedia platforms.

Most recently, duo has exec produced pics such as "Crash" and "Alpha Dog" in addition to upcoming pics such as "Flashbacks of a Fool," "Smart People" and "The Lucky Ones."

Blackwell lauded the "unique blend of creative, managerial and financial expertise" each will bring to Palm. "Their previous work demonstrates a consistent alignment with the Palm vision," he said.

Grasic will primarily focus on aggressively expanding the production and acquisition divisions across all platforms. She brings finance and management experience to the post, courtesy stints as a finance attorney and founding chief operating officer at Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

Korbelin previously served as exec VP of Showtime's "Reefer Madness" and Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101." He is the former prexy of entertainment and news and information for ProSieben Television.
