Film duo honored at Capri

Festival fetes Verhoeven, Schumacher

Dutch helmer Paul Verhoeven and multihyphenate Joel Schumacher will receive career recognition awards from Capri, Hollywood — the Intl. Film Festival, Dec. 27-Jan. 2 on the Italian island.

Helmers Mike Figgis, Terry Gilliam and Michael Radford will attend. The 12th fest will include a seminar on the Hollywood screenwriters’ strike and its impact on Italian and European film policy, moderated by scribe Bobby Moresco.

Fest’s full program will be announced Dec. 20 in Rome.
