Jalfon joins BBC Films

Exec was prod'n head at Ingenious

LONDON — Paula Jalfon, formerly head of production at Ingenious Media, has joined BBC Films as commercial manager.

She will be responsible for seeking out co-financing for the BBC Films slate, and overseeing sales, marketing and distribution. She reports to general manager Jane Wright.

At Ingenious, Jalfon supervised investments in movies such as “Shaun of the Dead,” “Vera Drake” and “Hotel Rwanda,” and received exec producer credits on “Closer” and “Brick Lane.”

Previously she spent five years as head of production at BFI TV, and then ran her own documentary production company Minerva Pictures.

BBC movie projects currently shooting include Saul Dibb’s “The Duchess,” starring Keira Knightley, and John Crowley’s “Is There Anybody There?,” starring Michael Caine. Pics in post-production include “The Other Boleyn Girl,” “Revolutionary Road,” “The Edge of Love” and “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.”
