Celine Dion sets tour

Diva brings 'New Day' to 45 dates

Celine Dion will tour North America eight months after her "A New Day ..." show closes in Las Vegas.

Forty-five dates have been booked between an Aug. 12 show in Boston and Jan. 30, 2009 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Dion will perform at New York's Madison Square Garden on Sept. 15 and in L.A. at Staples Center on Dec. 2, 2008. "A New Day" closes Dec. 15.

Dion's album "Taking Chances" will be released Tuesday by Columbia Records. From Feb. 14 until July 9, Dion will be touring Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe. Show is being directed by Jamie King, who most recently did Madonna's Confessions World Tour.

"I'm ready to hit the road again, with my husband and son by my side," Dion said in a statement.

Dion has been one of concert industry's highest grosser during the five years she has been enconsed at Caesars Palace.
