In which decade would you want to live?
“I would have loved to have been in the ‘20s and ‘30s, when people were really dapper and really dressed high fashion. I got in on the tail end of that growing up in the ‘50s and ‘60s. A shirt and tie was kind of the uniform that was acceptable everywhere, even at parties.”
The secret to a successful series is?
“People who watch our show tell me they love the flashbacks and say it’s like looking at a period piece every week. They love the music and, in the end, people get closure. It’s a combination of things that makes the show work.”
The best part of the job?
“You get to go to work every day and pretend - stuff you did as a kid, hopefully, and then get paid for it. It’s a beautiful thing.”
The worst part?
“You don’t have a consistent schedule. It’s not a 9-to-5 job. You don’t always know when you’re going to work or what time you’re going to come home. It doesn’t bother me so much, but it makes it hard for the family.”
