'Le Grand Chef' sold at AFM

Drama bought by Festive, A.O.E., M Pictures

Korean seller Show East’s foodie drama “Le Grand Chef” has been sold to Festive Films for Singapore and Taiwan, to A.O.E. for Malaysia, to Sundream for Hong Kong, and to M Pictures for Thailand. New Chinese buyer Chungeorahm China is in advanced talks to take the pic to the mainland.

Movie, helmed by Jeon Yun-su and based on a well-known graphic novel, is drawing heavily on parallels with TV series “Jewel in the Palace,” a TV drama about a palace cook that was an Asia-wide hit.
