Pic is helmed by Ti West, who is currently finishing "Cabin Fever 2" for Lionsgate. It was produced by Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix, which handled a small theatrical run this fall. Kino will put it out on DVD in March.
Foreign sales kicked off at AFM on Halloween, an apt date given that "Trigger Man" is part of Glass Eye's new slate of ultra-low-budget horror and sci-fi titles under the banner Scareflix.
Roger Kass, who handled West's debut killer-bat pic "The Roost," made both sales for Glass Eye.
"Trigger Man" plays off the terror of the Virginia Tech shootings and other post-9/11 episodes in its tale of a group of friends on a hunting trip who are targeted by a sniper.
After "Cabin Fever 2," West will lense "House of the Devil" beginning in January. Fessenden, Kass, Peter Phok and Josh Braun are producing.
Glass Eye is also teaming with Monsterpants Movies to release "Automatons," James Felix McKenney's black-and-white robot pic that generated strong critical response in 2006. Facets will release a DVD of "Automatons" on Jan. 29.
