On "Bones," Daley will play Dr. Lance Sweets, a hotshot therapist appointed by the FBI to determine whether Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) can continue as partners.
"He is terrifically funny and very appealing while projecting intelligence, which injects his scenes with all our actors, especially Emily and David, with a kind of rollicking energy that is a real bonus," said "Bones" exec producer Hart Hanson. "He fits in perfectly with the cattywonkers tone of our show."
Daley was recently seen on Fox on the short-lived but much-loved "Kitchen Confidential," as well as "Boston Public." His feature credits include the upcoming "5-25-77." He's also writing the feature film "The 40 Thousand Dollar Man," along with writing partner Jonathan Goldstein, for New Line.
As for Potts, thesp will play the mother of Blonsky, whose overweight character is elected homecoming queen by the mean high school clique.
Potts recently recurred on "Men in Trees," and recently shot a guest spot on "Ugly Betty." It's a return to Lifetime for Potts, who starred in the channel's "Any Day Now." Her sitcom "Designing Women" was also once rerun on Lifetime.
