That gives Dexter oversight of TV production for Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Noggin, Nicktoons Network and the N. She reports to Sarah Kirshbaum Levy, chief operating officer of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.
"Alison helped grow Nickelodeon into the production powerhouse it is today," Kirshbaum Levy said. "Her foresight and management for our state-of-the-art studios makes Nickelodeon the destination of choice for creators."
From her office at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, Dexter handles planning for Nickelodeon production facilities, as well as production budgets and plans for the various networks, as well as supervising physical production and technical personnel.
Physical studios under Dexter's charge include the animation house in Burbank, Nickelodeon on Sunset in Los Angeles and New York's Digital Animation Studio.
Exec also handles Nickelodeon's CGI animation efforts and has pushed the channel's high-definition initiatives.
Dexter joined the company in 1991 as a line producer at the Nickelodeon Studios in Florida (now closed). She most recently served as senior VP of production.
Prior to her 16-year stint at Nickelodeon, Dexter served as a production director for Japan's Sanrio Puroland; she also served as a production director for studio planning and design at Universal Studios, Florida.
