Arnold Broido, music publishing exec
Music vet was chairman of Theodore Presser Co.
Broido was chairman of the Theodore Presser Co., the oldest continually operated music publisher in the U.S., and of Elkan-Vogel, Inc.
Broido was educated at Julliard and Ithaca College, and, after serving in WWII, began working in the stockroom at Boosey & Hawkes. His career took him from Boosey to Century and Mercury Music, then to E.B. Marks, Frank Music Corp., and Boston Music. In 1969, he became president Theodore Presser.
He served on the board of the National Music Publishers' Assn., the Harry Fox Agency, as treasurer of the ASCAP board, president of the Music Publishers Assn. of the U.S., chairman of the International Confederation of Music Publishers, and president of the International Federation of Serious Music Publishers.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy, sons, Jeffrey, Laurence, and Thomas, president of the Theodore Presser Co.
