The first of its kind in Europe, with an initial annual budget of e5.5 million ($7.92 million), Planete Justice will offer 600 hours of evening broadcasting in its first year.
Programming will split roughly 50-50 between analysis and discussion of French legal culture and procedure, including the popular and long-running France 2-produced “Faites entrer l’accuse” (Bring in the Defendant), as well as shows more similar to those on TBS’ Court TV, featuring famous trials and unsolved crimes. French law forbids TV cameras in courtrooms.
