She will be responsible for evaluating projects as well as for sales, licensing and distribution activities for the company and its slate of films.
Arclight head Gary Hamilton praised Mackiewicz, who worked as a consultant for the company, as "one of the most experienced international sales and distribution executives in our business."
Hamilton and Mackiewicz will lead the sales team for Arclight and its Darclight and Easternlight divisions at the upcoming AFM.
Before her consulting stint, Mackiewicz was senior veep of worldwide distribution for Media 8 Entertainment. She also held the same title at First Look Studios, where her responsibilities included theatrical, video and TV sales. Mackiewicz has been involved in the international distribution of films including Julie Taymor's "Titus," John Turturro's "Illuminata," "Waking Ned Devine" and the Sundance hit "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints."
