Block-Verk to head Promax

Exec to head up marketing, design unit

Promax/BDA, the marketing, promotion and design arm of the TV industry, has named Jonathan Block-Verk president.

Block-Verk reports in January, succeeding Lee Hunt, who served as interim managing director of the association since the previous president, Jim Chabin, stepped down 10 months ago.

Michael Benson, exec VP of marketing for ABC Entertainment and chairman of Promax/BDA, stressed Block-Verk's expertise in creating "more opportunities for interactive and peer-to-peer engagement" among the association's members.

Block-Verk said marketing, promotion and design are crucial to driving "the monetization of content in the digital age."

He has resigned as publisher and executive producer of events for Boards magazine, a publication of the commercial-production industry owned by Canada's Brunico Communications.
