Columbia promotes advertising exec

Loren Schwartz upped to senior VP

Loren Schwartz has been upped to senior veep of creative advertising at Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.

Schwartz will oversee the creation of trailers, posters, TV ads and other marketing materials that support the theatrical release of Col films. He will continue to report creative advertising prexy Josh Goldstine.

Schwartz most recently served as veep of creative advertising, a position he held since 2004.

During his 11 years at the studio, he oversaw campaigns for such films as "Big Daddy," "50 First Dates," "White Chicks," "The Pink Panther," "Benchwarmers," "Little Man" and "Superbad." He is currently creating the materials for the upcoming releases "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," "The Pink Panther 2," "Pineapple Express" and "I Know What Boys Like."

Before joining Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1996, Schwartz was manager of creative advertising at Fox Searchlight for two years.  He began his career at Trimark Pictures.
