Skein's producers have struck a deal to turn the show into a videogame, with the celebrity chef lending his likeness to the effort. Canadian-based game developer Ludia is working on the project, having pacted with "Hell's Kitchen" producer Granada America.
"Our strategy is to exploit our brands on as many platforms as possible and to get our content to consumers when and where they want it," said Katrina Moran, exec VP of digital media for Granada America. "The casual games market creates added opportunities for us to engage existing and new fans of the show."
Ludia CEO Alex Thabet said the "Hell's Kitchen" game will try to duplicate the "kitchen boot camp" experience of the Fox reality hit. Company expects to develop games for a slew of platforms, from PCs to mobile phones.
Ramsay will pop up during the game to comment on the various culinary creations whipped up by players, no doubt serving up familiar insults such as "You donkey!" Game will also feature recipes that players can print out and try to cook in the real world.
Ludia plans to release the game next year, around the same time "Hell's Kitchen" begins its fourth season.
