Keitel's stage credits include a 1975 Rialto revival of "Death of a Salesman" and the Broadway run of "Hurlyburly" in 1984.
"Springer" has theoretically been on its way to New York since the 2003 tuner, in which the titular trash TV host goes to hell, proved a hit on the West End. (Brit thesp Michael Brandon originated the role of Jerry.) But a Broadway production planned for 2005 soon fell apart.
The Carnegie Hall concert staging, which will feature about 30 thesps, is helmed by Jason Moore ("Avenue Q") and produced by "Kiki & Herb: Alive on Broadway" duo David J. Foster and Jared Geller, as well as Avalon Promotions.
No further casting for "Springer" has been nailed down. The musical plays Carnegie on Jan. 29 and 30.
