Campbell, who held the same job at ABC O&O WPVI-TV Philadelphia since 2003, succeeds Dave Davis, who shifted earlier this month from WABC to the No. 2 job at ABC News.
The GM job at WABC encompasses not only the station but its three digital TV channels: 7online.com, the station's Internet site; and "Live With Regis & Kelly," the nationally distributed syndication series that WABC produces.
Campbell joined WPVI in 1997 as program director and rose to VP of programming before getting the GM job. Earlier in her career, Campbell held programming and production jobs at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pa. and WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa.
