NBC U finalizes Sparrowhawk deal

Move follows the completion of regulatory approvals for the deal.
NBC U has taken over the 18 feeds of the international Hallmark Channels, airing across 152 countries to more than 60 million subscribers.
It has also acquired the Movies 24 and Diva TV brands in the U.K. and Sparrowhawk's stake in the KidsCo joint venture with DIC Entertainment and Nelvana. KidsCo broadcasts in Central Europe and is planning to roll out across Western Europe, Latin America and Asia.
NBC U now owns Sparrowhawk's broadcast facility in Denver and international distribution rights to 580 titles in the Sparrowhawk Intl. library.
