HOLLYWOOD -- It was a tween dream come true as Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts joined forces for Variety's Power of Youth event Oct. 6 at the Globe Theater in Universal City.

The thesps were surrounded by a slew of young stars who gathered for the benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

"This is giving me such encouragement about the next generation," said Marlo Thomas, St. Jude's national outreach director. "They are 14-year-olds who are talking about helping others. It used to be that 14-year-olds just cared about makeup and videogames."

The day, which featured karaoke, fake tattoos, bike races and live performances by Keke Palmer, Elijah Kelley, Janel Parrish and Tyler James Williams gave the youngsters a chance to mix and mingle.

"These are the people that I have grown up with and who I used to see at auditions back in the day," said Andrea Bowen of "Desperate Housewives."

Regardless of age, everyone at the event appeared a bit starstruck.

"I finally got to meet Marlo Thomas," said an excited Cyrus; Thomas, who was accompanied by her brother, sister, nieces and nephews said, "The whole Thomas clan is here. They couldn't wait to meet Hannah Montana."
