Kudos preps 'Burn Up'

Thriller to star Bradley Whitford

U.K. shingle Kudos is prepping two-part political thriller “Burn Up,” starring Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing”) as an unscrupulous oil industry lobbyist.

“Burn Up,” commissioned by the BBC and co-produced with Canada’s Seven24 Films and Alchemy Television, is set against the background of climate change as oil company execs, eco-activists and pols weigh the conflicting demands of economic success and environmental responsibility.

Cast also features Neve Campbell and Rupert Penry-Jones.

The miniseries is written by “The Full Monty” scribe Simon Beaufoy and helmed by Omar Madha, whose credits include Kudos’ Brit TV hit “Spooks,” aka “MI5” Stateside.
