Eros links with Joost

Duo pact for Internet TV service

'Salaam-e-ishq'

`Salaam-e-ishq' is one of the recently released Bollywood pics from Eros Intl. that will be available for streaming on Internet TV service Joost.

Bollywood distrib Eros Intl. has pacted with Joost to stream for free more than 200 pics and 600 musicvids from its library on the Internet TV service.

Among the pics are recent releases such as "Salaam-e-ishq" (Salute to Love) as well as older ones including "1942: A Love Story."

In the piracy-plagued Indian film industry, distribs are trying various methods of fighting fraud. The London-listed leading player in Indian media and entertainment has been focusing on new media, and it has inked initiatives with Comcast, YouTube and Sky in the past.

"We are strong supporters of advertising-supported business models and believe Joost's ability to deliver targeted and interactive advertisements will benefit consumers and marketers equally," said Marcus Stuart, exec VP of development and new media at Eros. "This ability poises the company to expand the video distribution business and captures an enormous market opportunity."
