"Hangover" acquisition is the first since Phillips reupped his deal at the studio for another two years.
Script, penned by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, revolves around three pals who lose the groom at his Vegas bachelor party, 40 hours before the wedding. They then must retrace their inebriated bad decisions to figure out what happened.
"I don't want to get too specific, but something about the premise just spoke to me," Phillips said.
Shingle's Scott Budnick will exec produce. Phillips renamed his shingle Green Hat Films when he reupped.
"We couldn't be happier that Alan Horn and Jeff Robinov have the confidence and faith in what we are doing to renew our deal for another two years," Phillips said. "We look forward to undermining that."
And for his part, Robinov, the studio's production prexy, said he looked forward to developing more comedies with the helmer. Phillips is also attached to direct Jack Black starrer "Man-Witch" and "Men" for the studio.
Lucas and Moore are currently hammering out "Four Christmases" with Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. They also scripted "Snow and the Seven" for the Mouse House.
