The weekly series exec produced by Spade closed its third season in June.
Comedy Central declined to comment on the decision not to renew.
Pariah and Brillstein Entertainment produced the show, which both indulged in and sent up celeb culture.
When Comedy Central picked up the series for a third season last fall, topper Lauren Corrao noted that it had "turned into appointment viewing for our celeb-crazed culture."
But "Showbiz" had been a somewhat unusual fit at the net, which has engaged in topical humor via Jon Stewart and Dave Chappelle but had never previously ventured into such E!-centric territory. Show averaged about one million total viewers in each of its three seasons.
Spade currently stars in the CBS relationship laffer "Rules of Engagement," which has turned into a hit of sorts for the Eye after coming on as a midseason replacement last year.
Comedy could replace "Showbiz" with a similar project in development, "David Allen Grier's Chocolate News," in which the comedian examines pop culture in a faux-newsmagazine format.
"Showbiz" had a long history at Comedy Central, gestating at the net as the Greg Giraldo-hosted "Gone Hollywood," with Spade exec producing. It had originally been conceived as a strip.
