Int'l Documentary Assn. lauds 'War' vet

Buddy Squires will receive the Intl. Documentary Assn.'s Outstanding Documentary Cinematography nod during the org's 23rd annual gala benefit at the Directors Guild of America Theater on Dec. 7.

"Buddy Squires is the author of the images for some of the most compelling documentaries of our times," said IDA executive director Sandra Ruch.

Squires, who has more than 80 documentary credits, including the 1986 Oscar-nommed "The Statue of Liberty," last worked on the PBS series "The War," which premiered in September.
