The post has been vacant since Alex Hamilton left Icon at the end of last year. Grumbar starts immediately.
Grumbar will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Icon, overseeing all marketing, publicity and distribution operations.
Grumber has been with Icon for three years. He previously worked for Capitol Films and Intermedia.
Grumbar will report to Icon chief exec Martin Bigham.
Other Icon appointments see Mark Fisher appointed group financial manager overseeing IFD, Icon Entertainment International and Icon Home Entertainment, and Phil Rymer has been promoted to director of legal and business affairs.
Upcoming U.K. releases from Icon include Sundance audience award winner "Once," Sam Raimi produced "30 Days of Night" and "Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium," starring Natalie Portman and Dustin Hoffman.
Recent Icon acquisitions include "White Jazz," starring George Clooney, and "Push," starring Djimon Hounsou and Dakota Fanning.
