BAFTA renews Orange deal

Cell phone company sponsors awards

LONDON — The British Academy of Film and Television Arts film awards will be sponsored by cell phone giant Orange for the 2008 and 2009 editions.

The deal reps a continuation of the long-term relationship between BAFTA and Orange, which has sponsored Blighty’s most prestigious kudofest for the past 10 years.

Orange gives a Rising Star Award at the film awards, which is voted for by the public.

BAFTA film award noms are announced Jan. 16. Ceremony takes place Feb. 10.
