Foster takes Universal post in U.K.

Exec joins from Entertainment UK

LONDON — Ian Foster has been appointed managing director of Universal's home entertainment arm in the U.K.

Formerly commercial director of Entertainment UK, Foster replaces Johnny Fewings, who has been named as VP, strategic initiatives for Universal Pictures Intl. Entertainment, the studio's international homevideo division.

Fewings held the U.K. post on an interim basis for the past nine months, following the promotion of the former m.d. Eddie Cunningham to president of UPIE.

In his new role, Fewings will be responsible for a variety of projects and initiatives, including anti-piracy and HD DVD strategy.
