Unified Pictures sails with 'Ark'

Unified has signed Philip LaZebnik (“The Prince of Egypt,” “Mulan,” “Pocahontas”) to script. The shingle’s relying on its private financing, and ElectroAge has already started on the animation.
Unified topper Keith Kjarval said improvements in CG technology will make it possible to give “Ark” the look and feel of a studio pic. He anticipates that the toon will be completed over the next two years.
Unified recently completed principal photography on “Bob Funk,” a romantic comedy starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Michael Leydon Campbell, Stephen Root and Grace Zabriskie. It’s completed post-production on “The Perfect Sleep,” an action drama starring Roselyn Sanchez and Anton Pardoe, and it’s in post on psychological thriller “XII,” starring Mercedes McNab and Nick Searcy.
Unified also handled domestic distribution of the Italian-language film “Don’t Move,” starring Penelope Cruz.
