Sweden picks 'You' for Oscars

Andersson pic debuted in Cannes

STOCKHOLM — The Swedish Film Institute has named Roy Andersson's "You, the Living" as the country's entry for the foreign language Oscar.

Pic had its premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival, where it was shown in the Un Certain Regard section, and opened last week in Sweden to rave reviews and decent box office.

Paris-based sales company the Coproduction Office has sold the pic to 28 territories.

Andersson's last pic, "Songs from the Second Floor," was Sweden's Oscar entry in 2000.
