Dimension casts 'Super' spoof

Comedy pokes fun at superheroes

Dimension Films has completed casting for spoof comedy "Superhero" and set a March 28 release date.

Pic, written and directed by Craig Mazin ("Scary Movie 3," "Scary Movie 4"), pokes fun at a multitude of superhero ."

Cast includes Drake Bell, Sara Paxton, Christopher McDonald, Leslie Nielsen, Kevin Hart, Marion Ross, Ryan Hansen, Jeffrey Tambor and Brent Spiner. Production began Monday.

"Superhero" is produced by David Zucker and Robert K. Weiss. The trio of Mazin, Weiss and Zucker collaborated on "Scary Movie 3," "Scary Movie 4," "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult," "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!" and "The Naked Gun 2: The Smell of Fear."
