Miami fest adds 2 vets to film team

Granata, Silakong bring program experience

Gearing up to celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Miami International Film Fest has beefed up its programming team with the appointment of two veteran film programmers, Eleonora Granata and Kreingsak "Victor" Silakong.

Granata will handle world dramatic features while Silakong will program pics from Asia and the Pacific Rim. They join Monika Wagenberg who has programmed IberoAmerican features and docus the past two years while Karina Rotenstein has handled programming of world documentaries and shorts the past five years.

Granata is currently the U.S. rep and program advisor for the Venice Film Festival -- a position which she has held for the past five years and will continue to hold. Silakong is the current director of the World Film Festival of Bangkok and will ensure a strong representation of the Asia and Pacific Rim film market at the next Miami Festival.

The event, which runs from Feb. 28-March 9 next year, screens more than 120 selections from more than 50 countries.
