Jonathan Groff to star in 'Hair'

'Awakening' actor set for revival

Jonathan Groff ("Spring Awakening") will topline "Hair" in the Public's three-night concert staging of the famous sixties tuner at Central Park.

Also among the cast are Megan Lawrence ("The Pajama Game") and Karen Olivo ("In the Heights").

Concert, helmed by Diane Paulus ("The Donkey Show"), could serve as a prelude to a full-fledged revival of the show, which originated at the Public in 1967.

Tuner, with book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and music by Galt McDermot, plays as part of the Joe's Pub in the Park series Sept. 22-24.
