TWC names Podell senior VP

Exec new head of acquisitions, business

The Weinstein Co. has upped Michal Podell to senior VP of acquisitions and business and legal affairs.

Formerly veepee of international business and legal affairs, she will report to acquisitions chiefs Michelle Krumm and Maeva Gatineau and to Eric Roth, exec veep of business and legal.

Podell joined the company two years ago. She has worked on such Weinstein Co. pacts as the overall deal for animated projects with Exodus Film Group. Prior to TWC, she worked at New Line, where her projects included "Little Children" and "Domino."
