Strand buys 'Before I Forget'

Film unit nabs North American rights

Strand Releasing has bought North American rights to Jacques Nolot’s “Before I Forget,” before the film’s Toronto screening today.

Nolot stars as an aging writer battling depression and drugs. Pic previously screened at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight.

Another Nolot film, “La Chatte a deux tetes” (Porn Theater), was also released by Strand’s Marcus Hu and Jon Gerrans.

Deal was finalized between Gerrans and Claude Nouchi, a consultant for Colifilms Diffusion.

“This is a daring, edgy film that is reminiscent of French new wave films that push the envelope in terms of content and form,” Gerrans said.
